Akshay Kumar’s repertoire of films boasts of a variety of subjects. While the actor continues to do commercial Bollywood entertainers like the Housefull series, he also makes sure that he delivers films backed with a patriotic theme and an inspiring message for the society every few months.
However, it’s not just his films that Akshay uses as a medium to spread heart-warming messages. The actor recently took to Facebook to voice his opinion against the Bengaluru Mass Molestation and also expressed his idea to get a mobile app and website developed to support martyr’s kin.
Akki was also spotted at the Umang 2017 where he spoke of the responsibilities and challenges that come with the uniform. The actor who rarely speaks of his philanthropic initiatives shared that he has recently opened a hospital in Naigaon (Mumbai) dedicated to Police officers and their families.
A visibly awkward Akshay announced that the hospital will be providing medicines and lodging to the officers and their families for a nominal fee of Rs 100.
Revealing the reason why he decided to take the step, Akshay said, “My father was battling cancer and I used to often visit the Tata Memorial Centre hospital for his treatment. I was saddened by the plight of the people who had come from all corners of the country to get their loved ones treated as they would just lie around wherever they got space.”
Akshay’s father was a soldier in the Indian Army and the actor said that the plight of the people he saw at the hospital that day really moved him.
His words were, “That’s when I decided to open a hospital in Naigaon where the police officers and their families can stay during the course of the treatment. This is my way of giving back to the society.”
The action star also thanked the policemen for always putting the country before self.
Now that’s inspiring, no?
