For most people today, Instagram and Facebook have become their new best friends, more so, their travel companions. For these wanderlust souls, they never really arrive at a place until they geotag themselves at the desired location.
From trending hashtags to fancy statuses, the wanderers have used it all and made sure their check-ins, updates and posts never go unnoticed. And while there are so many captivating and delightful places in India, there are some that have gained much popularity purely for the number of times they have been captured.
Facebook released a report on the most Instagrammed locations from India for the year 2016 and you won’t believe which place tops the list. But before we reveal that, let us take you through all the locations that made it to this list:
Baga Beach, Goa – The ultimate trip that is planned every year only to get cancelled because of some unforeseen circumstances.
The Taj Mahal, Agra – An absolutely romantic location where the #FollowMeTo couple got remarried in a desi style.
#followmeto Taj Mahal with @natalyosmann. Finding a new angle was a challenge for us… I will be honest with you – I like this picture more than the previous one from Taj. Which one is your favourite? Thanks to our dear friend @mohitrai for coming to hotel at 5:30 a.m. and helping us with the dresses. #следуйзамной в Тадж Махал. Признаюсь вам – найти новый ракурс и переплюнуть предыдущую фото было для нас сложной задачей, но эта фотография мне нравится больше :). А какая вам? I’m punctual. Early to shoots, meetings, quick on email responses and messages. Friends & clients who know me would vouch for me when it comes to response times. As a full-time photographer & writer, it’s a trait that I pride myself on. I truly feel what really matters for a professional, above all else, is to be punctual. Your clients should never have to wait on you. If your photo shoot is scheduled for 6 in the morning, be ready to shoot by 5:30am. Clients want to show up and begin shooting, not watch you set up and prepare for the shoot. Clients expect to show up and be greeted with a warm smile, not a mad dash to get everything set up and ready to shoot. Having the right frame of mind will result in the right shots. Atleast, that is how I go about with my shoots. Also, reaching early to a location gives me time to just generally scout out the places that I'd like to take shots at, no matter how familiar I am with that particular location.
AND THE MOST INSTAGRAMMED LOCATION OF 2016 IS –
Marine Drive, Mumbai – A place where dreams don’t have an expiry date and smiles are spread for free.
How many of these have you been to?
