The funniest man on Indian television, Kapil Sharma, was not having fun this morning when he got on Twitter to vent out his frustration.

Kapil Sharma accused that despite having paid a high amount of income tax every year, he’s still asked to pay a bribe of ₹ 5 lakh to the BMC to build his office.

In what seemed a passive-aggressive tweet, Kapil directly asked the Indian Prime Minister if these were the “achhe din” he promised.

Corruption has been a sensitive subject for Indian politicians ever since the India Against Corruption movement united the nation against the practice.

Every Indian household is familiar with the act of bribing to get work done.

So when someone as famous as Kapil Sharma complains about the corrupt system, it draws support from every section of the society.

Soon after Kapil’s tweet went viral on the Internet, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took matters into his own hands to assure Kapil Sharma of swift action.

Here’s the full report on the matter by Times Now:

We will report more on the matter as more developments come in.

For now, all we can say is that it has been 5 years since the India Against Corruption movement and by the look of things, nothing has changed.
