The Supreme Court has held AIADMK chief, Sasikala, guilty of amassing a huge wealth of Rs 63 crores with late Jayalalithaa, as reported by NDTV.
The 21-year-old case is finally over when the bench of Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose and Justice Amatava Roy has announced Sasikala to be guilty.
Sasikala will not be eligible to become the Chief Miniter of Tamil Nadu, under present circumstances.
Now that she is ineligible to become the Chief Minister, MLAs on her side are likely to elect a new leader of the legislative party which will be nominated by her.
Senior leader KA Sengotaiyan has emerged as the potential candidate for such a scenario.

Sasikala had made an emotional appeal to the lawmakers yesterday when she sensed the growing support for Panneerselvam.
This means that Sasikala wouldn’t be able to contest elections during the next ten years and will have to surrender immediately and will be sent to the jail.
She revealed the last words of Amma and made emotional pleas to support the party during her tenure.
Now that the verdict on Sasikala is out, let’s see what Governor C Vidyasagar Rao’s decision would be.
The proceedings against Jayalalithaa has been abated because of her death on December 5.
