TOI has once again made its readers furious with their sexist headline about Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in India touring and were recently in Delhi at the India Gate to visit the memorial and pay homage to the brave soldiers.
All major new channels and media were present at India Gate to cover the national event. As the Duchess was paying homage, the wind suddenly picked up and blew her skirt a little and the moment was caught by the entire media.
A national daily, The Times Of India posted the picture on the first page, titled as ‘Kate’s Marilyn Moment At India Gate’.
The newspaper mocks at Kate’s £1700 dress as ‘unruly’ and points out its similarity with Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘white dress’ picture. Not just TOI, even some foreign media houses covered the news in the same manner. Here is the headline made by famous news website ‘Vanity Fair’.
TOI readers as well as Twitter went furious over the news headline and tweets poured online to show their anger.
